THEKKADY TEA TRAIL & SPICE TRAIL TOUR

Thekkady is one of the cutest place in Idukki district of Kerala. It is famous for its spices and tea production. The Thekkady tour is a full day guided tour which is of two sections one is spice trail tour and then Tea tour.

Spice trail tour starts with Tuk Tuk (Autorickshaw) at Thekkady for the first half of the day tour at 9:30 am. We begin the tour with organic plantation where we can see the different types of organic dried fruits, cereals, such as vanilla, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Anise star, poppy seeds, Black pepper, Cardamom etc for one and a half hours and then will be moving to the coffee plantation for 30 minutes, where we show how the tea is collected and transported and then ends with tea plantation visit for one and half to two hours. After the completion of these visits we shall move towards the coffee plantation factory, where we will show you how the coffee is converted to coffee powder. After this we'll have an authentic  authentic Kerala lunch.     

Plantation walk ( 1-2 hours plantation walk )

Then followed by Tea tour for the left half a day time. Connemara tea factory is an option for tea tour. The tea trail at Thekkady is a three- to four-hour walk through tea plantations and interactions with tea pucker’s to learn about the local culture of the people. Moreover, this walk is good for health in the form of breathing pure oxygen and having peace of mind. where we will be showing you the plantation and the way it is produced into tea powder at the final stage to outlet.

Connemara Tea factory – 1 Hour

The Connemara (Thekkady) tea factory is famous for its orthodox tea produced in the traditional way. The museum includes a living factory, which was   built in 1945, a tea sales outlet, and tea tasting sections. The visitors are given a brief idea about the origins of tea for consumption, it's history and health benefits and the traditional tea manufacturing processes.

 Tea testing – 1/2

The guests are explained tea tasting terminology and shown ways of making an ideal cup of tea. They are also allowed to taste and favor the various grades of tea produced in the factory. After finishing the tour, join the same vehicle to travel.
