THEKKADY- Periyar

      Thekkady is a small town from the beautiful nature district of Kerala - Idukki. It situated towards middle part of Kerala bordering the neighbouring state- Tamil Nadu.  Thekkady derived from thekku (teak ) known for its teak woods present in the forest and even the Periyar National park is situated here which is one among the tourist destinations in Kerala.

The wooded Department has declared the wooded lands surrounding Thekkady as absolutely unoccupied in order to protect Mother Nature. Kumily is the town closest to Thekkady, situated 4 kilometers away. This town is a peaceful place to take a stroll.
