Meeshapulimala
Meesapulimala is a peak located between the Anaimalai Hills and Palani Hills near Suryanelli, around 20 km from Munnar. It stands at 2,640 meters (8,661 feet) above sea level, making it the third highest peak in the Western Ghats, south of Manna Malai, which is the second highest at 2,659 meters (8,724 feet). The name Meesapulimala is derived from its appearance, which resembles a tiger with prominent whiskers when viewed from the southwest.
Nearby attractions include the Kolukkumalai tea estate, Top Station, and Tipadamala (2,135 meters). Treks to Meesapulimala can be organized through the Kerala Forest Department Corporation in Munnar, with the trekking route via Rhodo Valley being particularly noted for its rhododendron flowers. However, trekking from Kolukkumalai to Meesapulimala is highly restricted. The trek offers opportunities to spot wildlife such as Nilgiri Thar, Sambar Deer, Wild Gaur, Wild Dogs, and occasionally Sloth Bears. The trek duration ranges from 7 to 9 hours, depending on physical fitness.

How to get the Meesapulimala
Starting Point: KFRC office Munnar then proceeding to local trasport by jeep to base camp , it is 24 km via Mattupetty through Aruvikkad estate to the base camp of Meesappulimala.
